AP & CLEP
We recognize exceptional high school achievement by participating in the Advanced Placement (AP) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) of The College Board. You may earn academic credit for entry-level courses by superior performance on examinations. An AP score of 4 or 5 receives the equivalent of four semester hours of course credit. See our AP credit policy.
A CLEP score at or above the 50th percentile in an appropriate examination receives the equivalent of four semester hours of course credit. See our CLEP subject exam credit policy. We do not give credit for general exams.
If you earn exemption or credit through examination for a specific course, you may not subsequently enroll in and receive credit for the same or equivalent course. You also may not enroll in any preceding course in the same department without the permission of the department head.
You must make arrangements with The College Board to have an official copy of your AP or CLEP results sent directly to the Susquehanna University Office of the Registrar.
International Baccalaureate Credit
We recognize the intellectual rigor, high academic standards, and emphasis on international understanding and responsible citizenship of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
An IB higher level examination score of 5 or greater receives the equivalent of four semester hours of course credit. IB certificate recipients may receive credit for up to two courses in each subject area for which a higher-level examination score of five or more has been achieved, subject to final confirmation by the appropriate university department. Credit for a higher-level examination score of four will be awarded at the discretion of the appropriate university department. No credit will be awarded for subsidiary level examinations. See our IB credit policy.
